The only tool you need is a screwdriver—we recommenda Phillips head or a power drill (if you have one). Before youget started, take a minute to read through the instructions.
- Open your suitcase and lay the luggage flat.
- Remove the compression pad from the webbing straps and set aside. Unzip the removable lining, pull webbing straps through the grommets to completely detach, set aside, and expose the inner trolley.
-
The trolley has four screws at the top and two screws at the base of the poles. If your bag has tape covering the screws, remove tape, and set it aside for later.
- Unscrew the two screws at the base of the poles and four screws at the top (the ones that are between the poles — not the screws that are attached at the top of the shell beneath the top handle).
• Pro tip! Different screws may be used in different areas of the suitcase. Sort your screws while you work to remember which go in the top, and which go in the base.
- The trolley is attached to an inner reinforcement at the top, which is integrated with the top handle, and a brace at the bottom. Once the screws are removed, pull the metal trolley poles out of their plastic brace at the bottom of your suitcase and pull the trolley out by the exterior handle. The top reinforcement and the brace will remain attached to the bag and in place.
- Slide the new trolley into place.
- Fit the base of the aluminum poles into the plastic brace at the base of your suitcase.
- Ensure that all six screw holes align, taking care to use the correct screw type in the correct location, and screw until screws can twist no further.
- Cover screws with tape, replace the removable lining, and voilà!
That’s it! You’re good to get back on the road again.
