Troubleshooting tips
THE LOCK OPENS TO ANY COMBINATION
If TSA gets into your bag, it's possible the locks will open to any combination. In order to reset the lock to open at your combination, follow the directions below:
- Turn the bag to face you with the lock in front of you (the handle being at the top)
- Find the TSA lock slot that is to the right of the red diamond shape
- Find a small object that can fit in that little TSA lock space
- Turn the TSA lock slot so the 2 ends of the slot are pointing towards the arrow and red dot
This should work to straighten up that lock and reset it to the code that you set!

Take care
KEEP IT CLEAN
A washcloth and mild soap will remove any minor scuffs, and the included melamine sponge will take care of the more stubborn marks.
STOW AWAY
When you’re not traveling, keep your suitcase somewhere safe and out of the way. If you have multiple sizes, nest them to save space.
On the outside
Your suitcase is made from a lightweight and durable polycarbonate shell that has a little flex to it, letting you pack even more.
On the inside
TO THE LEFT Ⓐ
This side has a zippered mesh enclosure, designed to store hard, bulky, and non compressible items like shoes or toiletries.
ON THE RIGHT Ⓑ
This side’s perfect for clothing and anything else that’s soft and easy to press down. Pile up your clothes, buckle the compression pad, and tighten the straps to pack it all in. Use our Insider Packing Cubes (not included) to stay organized and save even more space. There’s also a mesh pocket on the compression pad Ⓒ for laptops, tablets, or magazines. Unzip the small pouch Ⓓ at the base of your suitcase and voilà: a removable laundry bag.
In your pocket
(If your suitcase doesn't have a pocket, you can skip ahead.)
Your Carry-On’s front pocket gives you instant access to the things you want nearby on the road (laptop, passport, crosswords, etc.), and is designed to stand up to everything from inclement weather to rough baggage handlers.
Ⓐ A shallow zippered pocket for the things you need to grab or stow quickly, like boarding passes.
Ⓑ An interior zippered pocket for keeping your passport, wallet, or phone safe.
Ⓒ The ideal spot to store your laptop for easy access and extra protection, cushioned with mesh neoprene and reinforced by the shell of your suitcase itself.
Ⓓ Zipper pulls can accommodate a small lock for extra safety.
If you choose to check your Carry-On, we recommend removing your laptop (and anything else fragile) and taking it into the cabin with you.

Care & repair
KEEP IT CLEAN
Matte finish: A washcloth and mild soap will remove any minor scuffs, and the included melamine sponge will take care of the more stubborn marks.
Gloss finish: The best way to clean your Gloss suitcase’s shell is to use a microfiber cloth and glass cleaner. We don’t recommend using a magic eraser, as it could cause damage to the Gloss finish. To repair any scratches, apply a dime-sized portion of car polish to the scratched area and gently rub with a microfiber cloth until the scratches are improved or removed. Allow the luggage to dry for 2-3 minutes.

REPAIRS

Removing your battery
HERE’S HOW
Flip open the charging port, push down on your battery, and let go. It will pop right out. Troubleshooting: We have found that if your bag is packed full, the pressure on the battery case can sometimes prevent the battery from popping out. Here are some tips that may help:
- Unzip the bag just a few inches at the top to relieve pressure before ejecting the battery
- Shift an item or two at the very top of the bag
- Plug a USB cord into the port to fish out the battery
If your battery is not popping out even when the bag is empty, we can get you set up with a repair. Reach out to us
HERE’S WHY
- If you’re checking one of our Carry-Ons, airline policies require you to remove your battery and carry it into the cabin with you.
- If you’re carrying your bag onto a flight, sometimes you may be asked to demonstrate how your battery is removed before you board.
- If you’re flying out of Asia, we recommend removing your battery before you go through security; you can replace it once you’re through.

Classic or Flex suitcase
TO CLEAN
We get it—scuffs and spills happen.
Matte finish: A washcloth and mild soap will remove any minors cuffs, and the included melamine sponge will take care of the more stubborn marks.
TO STORE
If you have suitcases in multiple sizes, you can nest them inside each other to save space: Just unzip the left side of the larger suitcase and set the smaller one inside—with the wheels all facing the same direction—then zip the larger bag closed.
Our front pockets are made with a water-resistant nylon or a premium coated leather. You can spot-clean your nylon pocket with a damp cloth and gentle soap, but just use a damp cloth (without soap) for your leather pocket. Keep in mind that the pocket cannot be removed from the shell of your suitcase.
Aluminum suitcase
TO CLEAN
You can clean your bag’s exterior and interior using a soft damp cloth and mild soap. Keep in mind that an aluminum suitcase is like an open passport—you can see everywhere it’s been (and that’s a good thing). So don’t fuss over every scuff and scratch on your bag—each mark has a story behind it. If you remove a sticker from your suitcase (like the one explaining the combination lock) and a little adhesive stays behind, use an alcohol-based wipe to wipe the surface clean.
TO STORE
Store in a cool, well-ventilated place with low humidity, if you can.
Bags
The best way to clean your bag depends on the fabric it’s made of. But one rule applies across the board: don’t put your bag through the washer or dryer. Keep in mind that every fabric is different: if your bag is a light shade, color transfer may occur if exposed to dark fabrics; if it’s a darker shade, color transfer may occur onto lighter fabrics. For fabric-specific instructions, see below.
NYLON
Your bag is made of premium nylon. It can be spot-cleaned with warm water, gentle laundry soap, and a washcloth.
LEATHER
Your bag is made of premium leather. It can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth.
We recommend spot-cleaning all Outdoor (formerly known as F.A.R) products with warm water and mild soap.
Accessories

How to replace the wheels
Need a repair kit? Please contact us to receive your kit.
The only tool you need is a screwdriver—we recommenda Phillips head or a power drill (if you have one). Before youget started, take a minute to read through the instructions.
- Open your suitcase, lay it flat, and remove the removable lining on the side that has the broken wheel(s).
- If your bag has tape covering the screws, remove the tape and set the pieces aside.
- Unscrew all screws, with their washers if washers are present on each screw, and remove the damaged wheel from the exterior of the bag.
- Slide the new wheel into place. For carry-ons, replace black inner wheel reinforcement too.
• Pro tip! Different screws may be used in different areas of the wheel.
• Sort your screws while you work to remember which go where.
• If you have a Carry-On or Bigger Carry-On, there will be 5 screws and an inner wheel housing. Remove and set aside.
• If you have a Medium or Large, there will be 4 screws and the inner wheel reinforcement will be integrated with the base of the trolley or the base handle. Simply unscrew the four screws that attach the wheel and set aside – the reinforcement should remain attached and in place.
- Line up the screws (with washers if present) with the wheel’s screw holes.
- Insert screws into screw holes, and screw until they can twist no further.
- Cover with tape, zip the lining, and voilà!
That’s it! You’re good to get back on the road again.

How to replace the trolley
Need a repair kit? Please contact us to receive your kit.
The only tool you need is a screwdriver—we recommenda Phillips head or a power drill (if you have one). Before youget started, take a minute to read through the instructions.
- Open your suitcase and lay the luggage flat.
- Remove the compression pad from the webbing straps and set aside. Unzip the removable lining, pull webbing straps through the grommets to completely detach, set aside, and expose the inner trolley.
- The trolley has four screws at the top and two screws at the base of the poles. If your bag has tape covering the screws, remove tape, and set it aside for later.
- Unscrew the two screws at the base of the poles and four screws at the top (the ones that are between the poles — not the screws that are attached at the top of the shell beneath the top handle).
• Pro tip! Different screws may be used in different areas of the suitcase. Sort your screws while you work to remember which go in the top, and which go in the base.
- The trolley is attached to an inner reinforcement at the top, which is integrated with the top handle, and a brace at the bottom. Once the screws are removed, pull the metal trolley poles out of their plastic brace at the bottom of your suitcase and pull the trolley out by the exterior handle. The top reinforcement and the brace will remain attached to the bag and in place.
- Slide the new trolley into place.
- Fit the base of the aluminum poles into the plastic brace at the base of your suitcase.
- Ensure that all six screw holes align, taking care to use the correct screw type in the correct location, and screw until screws can twist no further.
- Cover screws with tape, replace the removable lining, and voilà!
That’s it! You’re good to get back on the road again.

Classic or Flex suitcase
TO CLEAN
We get it—scuffs and spills happen.
Matte finish: A washcloth and mild soap will remove any minors cuffs, and the included melamine sponge will take care of the more stubborn marks.
Accessories
NYLON ACCESSORIES

How to replace the wheels
Need a repair kit? Please contact us to receive your kit.
The only tool you need is a screwdriver—we recommenda Phillips head or a power drill (if you have one). Before youget started, take a minute to read through the instructions.
- Open your suitcase, lay the luggage flat, and unzip the lining.
- Unscrew all screws, and remove the damaged wheel from the exterior of the bag.

Simply unscrew the four screws that attach the wheel and set aside – the reinforcement should remain in place.
- Line up the screws with the wheel’s screw holes.
- Insert screws into screw holes, and screw until they can twist no further.

Different screws may be used in different areas of the suitcase. Sort your screws while you work to remember which go in the top, and which go in the base.
- The trolley is attached to an inner reinforcement at the top and a brace at the bottom. Once the screws are removed, pull the metal trolley poles out of their plastic brace at the bottom of your suitcase and pull the trolley out by the exterior handle.

How to replace the compression straps
Need a repair kit? Please contact us to receive your kit.
The only tool you need is a screwdriver—we recommenda Phillips head or a power drill (if you have one). Before youget started, take a minute to read through the instructions.
- Open your suitcase and lay it flat.
- First, remove the compression pad. You can do this by taking the individual straps out from inside their corresponding C-shaped clips attached to the compression pad. Set the compression pad aside with C-shaped clips still attached.
- Unzip the lining. Lift up the lining so that you can see where the straps connect to the shell. Note: Zipper pulls may be reversed to ensure nothing snags on the lining. Check under the laundry bag for the zipper and use a pen to carefully wedge the lining open.
- Unscrew the D-shaped wireframe that holds the strap to the luggage and the plate that sits under the screw.
- Discard the damaged strap.
- Replace the compression pad strap by placing the replacement screw and the D-shaped wireframe and plate over the lining hole. Make sure to align each piece with the screw hole. Tip: Before screwing in fully, rearrange the plate so that it sits straight.
- Replace the screws one by one until they're all screwed in tightly.
- Zip the lining and reattach the compression pad by inserting the strap back into the C-shaped clip.
That's it! You're good to get back on the road again.

You’re covered

Get to know your battery
Your Carry-On has a battery that can be easily accessed by flipping open the lid under your bag’s handle.
YOU’LL FIND
Ⓐ LED LIGHTS: These indicate how much power your battery has left.
Ⓑ MICRO-USB PORT: This is where you’ll plug in the included cable to charge your battery. Use the wall adapter to plug in to any outlet. We recommend charging overnight before traveling.
Ⓒ STANDARD USB PORT WITH 1A OUTPUT: This port charges your phone or device at a standard speed.
Ⓓ STANDARD USB PORT WITH 2.1A OUTPUT: This port charges your phone or device at a faster speed.
Both standard USB ports can be used at the same time. When charging your battery, make sure that no devices are plugged in to the other USB ports.
Warning: This battery is not designed to be charged from a laptop USB port.
